Linker can't find a framework

Okay, this makes no sense. I've added a framework (three actually) from the
System/Library/Frameworks folder. Now the linker is telling me it can't
find them. What's up with that? The OS can find them. Is there some
fiddly bit that wasn't set by the maker of the frameworks? I even tried
adding System/Library/Frameworks to my frameworks search path. Grrrr.
