Just to clarify, that's not really a Mac thing, that's an AppKit thing, which is used by a number of Cocoa applications to provide text editing capability. However, traditionally text windows in Mac applications did *not* exhibit this behavior. Hopefully one day they'll go back to the old behavior. But it is the case that it's not the fault of anyone on the Xcode team.
