Chris,

Sorry for the negative tone of my posting. I've been programming Apple computers since 1978, and have generally had very good experience. It's nice that Apple is willing to invest in producing / maintaining its own IDE (although I find the Xcode IDE overly complex for my modest needs). I'm glad that we aren't entirely reliant on Metrowerks/CodeWarrior, which seems to have faded since MacOS 9.

The intent of my posting was to warn folks using 'old' versions of Xcode that their upgrade may not be painless (although my experience wasn't bad - maybe 45 minutes of fiddling around).

I didn't do an uninstall of Xcode 2.0 - I assumed (wrongly, it seems) that the Xcode 2.4 installer would detect and remove the previous version. I can't file a worthwhile bug report because the problem hasn't recurred after my fix, and everything seems to be working fine again. I didn't take note of the exact wording of the Internal Error message. I'm using 10.4.6. I definitely started with a Clean.

Regards,
Steve

It would be more helpful if you provided a) the version of Mac OS
you're using and b) the exact Internal Error message. And it would
be good to know whether you did the recommended uninstall of the 2.0
tools prior to installing Xcode 2.4. It would also help to know
whether you started with a Clean, or had a build folder built with
2.0, then upgraded to 2.4 and rebuilt without cleaning.
