I have never seen this type of crash in a plain ObjC file, which sort of encourages me not to use Obj-C++ :)
I have. I wouldn't use this as a reason not to use Obj-C++. (Besides the fact that they're mostly harmless.)
A crash in the compiler on saving the file always implicates Predictive Compilation. Uncheck "Use Predictive Compilation" in the Building preferences pane.
We've addressed a number of these compiler crashes on ill-formed code in the last few versions of Xcode. The originator didn't note what version this occurred on, but I'd recommend trying this on Xcode 2.4.
