I have two targets in my project (well, several, but only two that
are important here). The main target depends on a Lua target.
When I build, everything builds in the correct order and all is well.
When I changed the Lua configuration file luaconf.h, and built, all
of my Lua target was built which is more or less expected but then
the entire main target was rebuilt rather than the 3 or 4 files that
include Lua headers.
When I committed my change to luaconf.h to the CVS repository, and
built again (after fixing a warning in a .cpp file), it rebuilt all
of Lua and the main target except for the precompiled headers in the
main target. The fact that it didn't rebuild the precompiled headers
is surprising to me. Usually when Xcode decides to rebuild my whole
project, it does the precompiled headers too.
I checked the archives (I searched for "compiles everything" which as
you might imagine has more than a few unrelated hits). Googling found
<http://lists.apple.com/archives/xcode-users/2005/Jun/msg01068.html>
but no solutions where forthcoming.
I am using Xcode 2.4.1. Has anyone else experienced the mysterious
recompile of everything when nothing should have changed?
