When I build, everything builds in the correct order and all is well. When I changed the Lua configuration file luaconf.h, and built, all of my Lua target was built which is more or less expected but then the entire main target was rebuilt rather than the 3 or 4 files that include Lua headers.

*sigh* Please forgive the noise. The fact that the precompiled headers weren't being built should have been a big tip off to me that it wasn't one of the mysterious recompiles. Someone apparently decided to include some of the lua headers in a header file used by many files.

The recompiling after committing is an issue, but that's been happening intermittently for as long as I can recall.
