The subject line is new, but Mail.app appears to think it's part of another thread. Honestly, it looks like a problem with Mail.app, not Hartwig's post to the list.

In fact, the it's not at all a problem with Mail.app.

Like most good mail readers, Mail.app provides threading capability. It uses a combination of subject line and message-id to identify threads. Hartwig's message has a header element (in-reply-to) that associates his message with the second of Garrison's messages, thereby establishing the thread. Check Chris's [ADMIN] message this month.
