I happened to be using PowerPC. I'll try Intel (though I don't know if 2 GB on my MacBook Pro counts as lots).

Given the inability of most current machines to address more than 3 GB RAM I'd consider it "sufficient" ;-)

As I understand it you're available memory space is not tied to the amount of RAM you have installed thanks to the wonders of virtual memory. The point of having lots of RAM is that if you don't have enough you could get into a lot of swapping.
