Going from Basic to Cocoa is a huge leap. You're learning Objective-C, Mac OS X, object oriented design, and a new IDE all at once. Best to do this with some structure. I suggest you work through the Hillegass book line by line, doing all of the exercises and challenge problems. You might need a sizable detour to learn OO design. It could be worth your while to invest in an ACM membership and work through some of their online courses to get a handle on OO design, before tackling Cocoa.

I don't mean this to be a reflection on you--rather it's a fact of the difficulty of the material. It will be frustrating and ultimately unproductive unless you prepare yourself.

Hal
