On an operating system the reserves a folder name called Utilities
(from which you can't move things or risk update traumas, yada
yada), its probably not a good idea to use the term "utility" when
"usefulness" would have been less ambiguous.
"utility" was an English adjective for centuries before computers
came along and made it a noun. I happened to have learned English
before the PC was invented, so I speak a now-archaic version of the
tongue.
And I apologize for misunderstanding how you were using it when I
responded. :-)
