My guess is that carbon-dev or Omni's macosx-dev is probably the
place to talk about this.
It would be interesting, perhaps, to look at the merits of writing
an ICA Device Module versus a TWAIN Data Source. My impression is
that ICA is the native API for Mac OS X, and TWAIN is only
supported for legacy/compatibility purposes, but I might be wrong.

And I would agree with your assesment that ICA Device Modules seem
more native from the naive developers point of view -- but then, a
lot of Graphics Programs on the Mac have been around for a long time.
We have contacted authors, and they preferred twain.
