Thanks, I've given that a try and I'm getting further, now I think I'm running into issue with the '-x c++' option not being understood by ccache, so I'm not getting any cache hits. I've seen some comments on the list before about this, but does anyone have any current work arounds?
A year or so ago, I tried to get it to work but didn't have any luck. I
sent mail to this list with my progress (you should be able to find the
message in the archives). I had to modify ccache to get it to accept
arguments that Xcode passes along.
The one thing I never managed to get working was precompiled headers. If
the project had those, it simply did not work.
It's really too bad that Xcode doesn't work with ccache. I've found it
to be far more time saving that precompiled headers and distcc combined,
especially since Xcode dependency analysis doesn't seem to take into
account the preprocessor so changing a file that shouldn't effect that
file needing to be recompiled does. (Of course, when I say it's faster
than distcc, I don't exactly have a compile farm at my disposal.)
