You are indeed missing /usr/bin/as. Who knows what else is missing on your system as well? /usr/bin/ld?


You need to uninstall and then reinstall your Xcode Tools. If the system thinks you have /usr/bin/as (the package receipts in /Library/ Receipts say you have it) and you don't have it, reinstalling without uninstalling won't help.
