Jim,

I opened bug 5245889 relating to this issue.

Turns out it is particular to the file name. If the file name has parentheses, for example "MyDocument (extras).m" then debugging will not work. "MyDocument + extras.m" works fine.

I didn't add the debugger log, but I did attach a very simple project demonstrating the issue.
