YMMV. It also highly depends on your codebase and machine.

IMO, for any slightly medium sized projects, an Intel Mac is required for comfortable coding
Especially when C++ is used in the files (high compile times. Depending on your project setup, potentially 10x longer.)
Or when the source files are large (editing can get dead slow beyond 20k)
