Hi.
Microsft compiler isn't made to be compliant to the C++ standard (i.e.
ISO/IEC 14882:2003), but is made to build Windows applications. So, is
possible that some non-standard C++ code compiles in Visual C++ but not in
Xcode (gcc 4.0.1). Anyway if you make "const" the parameter in function, you
will respect the C++ standard and you'll be able to compile your code in
Xcode (as well as in Visual C++).
Bye.
Luca.

Hey there,
I'm trying to get into XCode compiling, but i am facing some problems.
can anyone tell me why the following doesn't compile?
...
int function(Vector3& v1)
...
int otherfunction()
{
Vector3 v;
int j = function(v); // working
int i = function(Vector3()); // not working, "no matching function
for call to function(Vector3)
// candidates are int
function(Vector3&)
}
...
what's the problem here? it's compiling on a PC with Visual Studio, but not
in XCode, are there any compiler settings that can tweak this?
thanks for any help.
