That same system does work, I'm just wanting an xCode based
solution because not everyone is versed in command line development
and debugging.
Just some ideas - not from any Xcode scripting experience but old,
crusty AppleScripting memories:
- AppleScript is especially dog slow if it includes many context
switches (script <-> target).
Last time I used it that way in the OS 8 days, but the solution was
instead of
tell foo
-- each command gets sent from the script to foo and then the result
is sent and processed in the script context
some action
another action
end tell
to use
tell foo
do script
-- should get executed in foo context
some action
another action
end script
end tell
I'm not sure if the OSA still per default handles "do script"
- another way to minimize context switches would be:
open old project
get the contained hierarchy from XCode
read the current hierarchy from disk
build some lists (filesToAdd, filesToRemove)
tell Xcode to apply the diffs (using as many data in list form as
possible)
