easy access to file type?
easy access to file type?

I am working on a branch of a project in which the goal is to convert all
our files to C++. I am working on the very first part of this- cleaning it
up just enough to successfully compile under the C++ compiler.
I have a problem- since the source I'm converting is a branch of an
application undergoing continuing development, I need to be able to merge
changes from the trunk into my branch from time to time. Since SVN can't
connect files across a branch if you re-name them, I have not changed the
file extension to .cpp. Instead I simply Get Info on the files and select
SourceCode.cpp.cpp as the file type.
I have been doing this piecemeal so I have some .c file that are really cpp
files and some that aren't. I would like to be able to tell visually in the
project window which compiler is active.
The file type column in the Detail view seems to be sensitive to the filt
name extension, not the setting in the Get Info pain.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!

John Weeks
