I have recently installed Leopard and Xcode 3.0 on two intel core duo's machines an iMac and MacBook, and on both machines it takes several minutes to create or open an existing project. Has anyone experienced similar delays and is there an issue?

Yes, I get the same thing. Maybe it's a feature to let you go and fetch coffee... at least, that's what I do instead of staring at the pinwheel ;-)

I've had this in the past and tried attaching with gdb to see where it was stuck... turned out to be trying to look up the local machine name (NSCurrentHost(), something like that?). That problem was caused by a bad DNS setup. Might be worth checking your network setup, or at least going offline and see if you get the same problem.
