Xcode 3.0 stalls

Hi!
Ever since installing Leopard 9A581, I have severe problems with Xcode
(3.0 921.0) stalling.
This happens rather frequently while or after running or debugging a
project from Xcode. As long as I am just writing code, all is fine.
The symptoms are:
- Xcode does not seem to react to mouse clicks or keyboard input anymore
- A click may bring it back to (half-)life. It will then catch up on
some of the ignored input and group several clicks into a drag-select
or drag-and-drop operation
- I.e. quitting requires the cmd-Q shortcut followed by a click
- If send to the background, it does not come to the foreground with
cmd-tab
- Upon cmd-tab, the previously active application's menu bar still
shows. A click in the menu bar reveals the Xcode menu bar and brings
it to front
- I have never seen Xcode recover from this situation. I need to quit
it. Happens every 10-15 minutes !!!
I have tried deleting the named configuration files within
my .xcodeproj. I have deleted Xcode's preferences. I have removed the
invisible Xcode configuration directory in my home folder. To no
avail...
On the occasion I see GC-related warning messages in the console.
These do not seem to be 1-to-1 related to the stalls though.
