Intel Core architecture optimization

Hi,

I'm building code on an Intel Core Duo, working on getting it speed- optimized. So far I get the best results when I use '-march=pentium4' for the architecture (using GCC 4.0). What architecture should I use though, if I need to share this code with someone on an Intel Core 2 machine, i.e. a Mac Pro?

I've been having a hard time nailing down all the various architecture terms for Intel Core Duo vs. the Core 2 line, but I know the Core Duo is based on the Pentium M, whereas the Core 2 line is based on the Intel Core microarchiecture. If someone has a doc somewhere with a comprehensive overview of the various names, codes, brandnames, etc. for the various Intel processors used by Apple, please point me there, that'd be a great help.

Cheers,
Michael
