When installing both 2.5 and 3.0, does order matter?

In the blizzard of postings that appeared after the Leopard release, I
recall reading a suggestion that, when installing both Xcode 3.0 and 2.5 on
the same machine, the 3.0 installation should be done first.

Is this correct?  Or is the install order irrelevant?
