I am looking for information of whether it is possible (and not so hard) to use MySQL as data store for Core Data.

As Core Data is a simplified EOF/Obj-C and GDL2 is an EOF/Obj-C clone, GDL2 might help.

Using an EOAdaptor standalone is possible, this makes a well desinged objective wrapper around a database interface. I don't know wether you can tweak an open source EOAdaptor to stick as a backend to Core Data.

Is this product help?

I don't see how how an ODBC adaptor to MySQL would help with Core Data.
