I have a saved terminal setting which is wrong.  I once upon a time started a vi session from xcode for a source cpp file.  Now, every time I start the terminal app from the dock it comes up with the vi session for that file loaded.  How can I reset the app to just give me a new shell?

In Terminal Preferences, make sure "Open a saved .term file when Terminal starts" is not checked.

Also choose Get Info and check the "Shell" settings for that window.  Select "Close the window" and click "Use Settings as Defualt," then close the window and quit Terminal.
