I'm not sure what you mean by the menu item. When I choose Run > Console, it brings the window to the front. The menu item remains Run > Console, and does nothing a second time. (I'm using Codewarrior menus like any rational Mac developer :-)
Hold down Control and Option while pulling down the Run menu, and a new world will be revealed. Same in most menus. The first big grey box in the Release Notes is worth heeding:
Important: Many items are now alternates to other items that share the same command key. Hold down the Option, Control, and Shift keys to see all the items in the File, Edit, and View menus.
