That, of course, is the right answer, and I only realized it hours
after posting.
I guess I would further critique it by suggesting that Command-K clear
the buffer, as it does in Terminal and some other app I can't remember
right now (Console?). Sadly, Command-K means Compile in the Metrowerks
bindings I use.
I wonder if it would be acceptable for Command-K to clear the console
when it is frontmost, and compile when the target is source file
(source file open in a frontmost window, or selected in the list of
files in the project window).
