The other posters are right, BTW, that these are extremely
elementary C

For any newbies who may be wondering why people here resist answering
basic programming questions, it's not that people here don't want to
help people getting started. We all needed help when we were starting
(and most of us still need help from time to time still ;-), but if
we open the list to any programming question from anyone using Xcode,
the list would get so many of those questions it wouldn't be able to
function effectively for its intended purpose, which is to be a
source of help to people trying to addresses Xcode-specific issues
such as setting up projects, build scripts, accessing features in
Xcode, working around bugs in Xcode, and so on. This list seems to
also be appropriate for questions about other Apple tools such as
Interface Builder and Shark as well. That's just my opinion as a list
subscriber.
For better or worse, some of us have been doing this so long that we
really don't even know where to direct a newbie to get help. For us,
the best resources available today weren't even around when we were
getting started.
