nm is the tool for viewing symbols.

I tried using otool, but didn't get anything useful. Checking "Write Link Map File" does nothing when I build the library. man libtool doesn't show anything interesting. man ld says it takes a -map option, but I can't feed it an archive and get anything out of it.
Does anyone know how I can do this?
