Xcode 3 custom install location vs Shared workgroup builds

I used the option in Xcode's installer to change the location of the / Developer folder to /Xcode300 (as I envisage keeping multiple versions around). I also turned off the option to install the CLI tools into / usr and friends as I want to remove any dependance on the non / Xcode300 rooted versions.

Having done so, Shared workgroup builds do not work to or from this machine. An alert comes up pointing to the release notes and sure enough /usr/bin/distccd is not there. (which makes sense I suppose)

Is it possible to set up Distributed builds if CLI are not installed and Xcode is not installed in /Developer?

Thanks

Matt Gough
