Xcode will not open certain .xcodeproj

Hello,

I have Xcode 3.1 and recently one of my Xcode projects will not open. The project name is hyperltrace.xcodeproj. Every time I attempt to open this file, Xcode will lag for a bit and then close giving me a "The application Xcode has quit unexpectedly" mac error.

However this is interesting:... if i rename the .xcodeproj file to hyperltrace2.xcodeproj ... it DOES open. How can I fix this so it will open its original name?
