Greetings fellow XCode users,
I am having troubles getting up and running with iPhone SDK//Xcode 3.1. Any usable advice is most humbly appreciated....
Preamble - i am running x code w/the following:
Version 3.1
Component versions
Xcode IDE: 1099.0
Xcode Core: 1100.0
ToolSupport: 1086.0
The development host is a 2 GHz MacBook with 2 GB of 667 DDR2 and OS version 10.5.4 installed (up to date as of today, 2008-0816).
i just updated iphone from OS 2.0 to OS 2.0.1 to see if it would cure my woes - although the same symptoms have persisted (description to follow) - so that it is now at:
Version: 2.0.1 (5B108)
Model: MB048LL
I have 12.6/14.6 GB of storage free. When I upgraded the OS from iTunes, Xcode chimed in with a new-device-detected dialog which asked me if I wanted to continue using my iPhone as a development device, to which I answered in the affirmative. Xcode had originally noticed the iPhone when it was attached, right after I installed Xcode; and presented me with a similar dialog at that time (to which I also answered 'yes').
Problem Description:
I cannot build&run any applications on the physical iPhone target (described above) - not even 'Hello World' - from the Xcode project views I get when I open the various .xcodeproj files in the sample-code folders I downloaded from ADC. Everything runs great with simulator/debug as the selected target.
The dialog which informs me of the bad news when the real iPhone HW is connected suggests disconnecting the iPhone, powering it OFF, powering it back ON, and then reconnecting it to the development host.
Here is the hex code and error text this dialog provides (above the useless
advice to cycle power):
0xE8000001 Verifying application
Has anyone out there seen this & know how to fix or work around? Numerous
thanks in advance...
&best regards,
--Fausto
