I'd be curious to know exactly how you invoke qlmanage under Guard
Malloc (and with what exact version of the OS) as I can't reproduce
that problem.

Then I pointed it to a file I wanted to look at, and set the
executable as the current executable, and then enabled Guard Malloc in
the Run menu. And I'm running 10.5.4 on an Intel Mac.
