Thanks Mark, and thanks to others. I found out my problems.
After I applied for developer program I received the email from Apple
but I never completed the registration step by clicking on the
activation link. I have now done that and I am now on my way to
acquire my cert for work.

I joined the $99 iPhone developer program and downloaded the iPhone
SDK. However, I can't seem to make a connection to my iPhone.
When I run a program, only the iPhone simulation comes up but I
have my real iPhone 3G connected via USB.
Is there something I am supposed to do? I can't find any switches
or settings or actions of any sort to try.
