We're not investing in fixing the creaky old FileMerge because we've
been diligently replacing it with an integrated function that works

So while we're waiting, why not open source FileMerge? I've been
wanting mixed line endings support, and a few other minor changes
since Mac OS X Public Beta. Seven and a half years is a long time to
wait for a feature that should only take a few weeks of engineering.
Additionally, please keep in mind that FileMerge is often used for
outside-of-SCM operations. Until Xcode can replace every use of
FileMerge, we still need it.
