I could swear it was asked more recently than that, and an answer
was given, but I can't find the post.
Maybe your brain-ware proto-google is hitting on the
"PBXCustomTemplateMacroDefinitions '{ORGANIZATIONNAME = ..." stuff?
Doing a "defaults read com.apple.Xcode" I see a default called
PBXProjectWizardSavedDirectories that contains the directories in
that drop-down menu, *except* for ~/. I suspect that list of
directories is added to the menu programmatically, so changing the
defaults setting won't have change the default menu selection.
Yeah, and the fact that we all have such a list, which doesn't for any
of us show ~/, yet we all see ~/, pretty much clinches it: that's the
pop-up list, not the default value. I find no other references to "~"
than the two Wizard lists (one for files, the other for projects).
I think we've got an enhancement request here.
