Time Machine solves the problem of 99.9% of end users never backing
anything up.
It's not perfect, but it is stable, fast, efficient and easy for
people to use. Every Mac I setup for family and friends gets an
external drive with Time Machine configured, they just need to
remember to plug in whenever their near and it will take all the worry
away :-)
I still use SuperDuper! every so often to take a complete copy of my
system onto an external disk that gets locked away in a 'safe' place,
but then I'm paranoid and my Mac is my Life :-)

this in not a backup system I can rely on.
Hello,
Your statement as quoted above is absolutely right. Time Machine
does not
encourage you to take multiple backups off-site in case of fire,
theft,
flooding, lightning, hurricanes etc. So I would NOT rely solely on
Time
Machine.
