Hi JP.

By the way: You have known that Time Machine does no longer save the

your build folder yourself.
This is not my understanding of a "BackUp system"...
Maybe you didn't get me. You told us that you know that TM doesn't
backup the build folder any longer but YOU trashed your special build
folder yourself, anyway. Simply don't blame it on TM. :-)
If I tell TM to backup a volume and it does not save all the files and
folders of this volume, and that I dont know that this Backup system may
be told ( in my back) to exclude some folders/files,
then this in not a backup system I can rely on.
There should not be any exception to a backup.
I don't want any backup system to save the /tmp/ folder either. A dumb
backup system which simply copies everything, simply wastes time and
space on your backup drive.
For "normal" Mac users, TM is a perfect and smart tool. For us
developers who use Xcode for many applications and many targets, the
build folder has absolutely no real value AS LONG as you don't put
content to the build folder yourself.
Please set up a Subversion server to keep control over your app sources
and please add your "private" files to the sources, not to the build folder.
Just my 2 cents. I guess this discussion loses Xcode relation now.
