Does [adding files from shell] work?
Yes - I explained that in the postscript. It would **appear** that
Xcode is trying to add the file as cvs add path/file instead of (cd
path ; cvs add file ) looking at the groomed output.
If command-line CVS works, then it's an Xcode-specific issue, and
we can diagnose it from there. For example, what version of Xcode
and OS
X are you using?
Yup, my gaffe - Xcode 3.1.2, 10.5.5, standard CVS. Is there log
somewhere of the actual cvs commands sent, beside the SCM log?
There is not.
I'm not sure your diagnosis is the cause of what's going wrong. If it
were, then Xcode's CVS would fail far more often than just with your
case.
This is probably worth your filing a bug. Please include as much
information as you can about your CVS setup.
