[Xcode-Users] Auxilliary Executable losing Executable Rights

  • Subject: [Xcode-Users] Auxilliary Executable losing Executable Rights

Hello List,

we are experiencing an odd problem:

When sending an application by iChat, the "auxilliary executable" of a Cocoa Application (a shell tool living in the MacOS folder) loses its eXecutable permission

i.e. the cocoa executable remains rwxr-xr-x, but the auxilliary executable goes rw-r--r--. We have experienced similar when copying to a FAT Flashdrive.

While this may not be exactly the topic for this list, could anybody shed light on the issue why executables lose their privs?

Thanks

Alex
