Hello. I just noticed your post and would like to comment on it.
As the document, Mr. Guering linked, said, Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
started to use new UNIX standard decoration name, and it gives people
who didn't read the document, including me, lots of trouble.
Especially this happens when you have a project targeted to Mac OS X
10.4/10.3 as a minimal platform to use your program, but some of its
dependent libraries were compiled for the Mac OS X 10.5.
I posted the issue to my blog.

Or, it can also happen, when the "Mac OS X Deployment Target" of a
project's build property and "Base SDK" were mixed unfortunate way.
Also, with the Xcode, you can find the same setting on the "Target" tab.
If you choose one of targets and check its property, you can also check
the build property. If someone changed setting there manually, it
doesn't sync with the "Project" setting from "Files" tab.
So, it would be good trial to check the both properties.
Hope this helps.
