i have it just about always happen that line endings get mixed while i'm editing the file. i'm always using unix, but when i cut and paste from other types of line ending files, or even just editing within the file (!) the line endings start getting mixed, which has the effect of making my breakpoints NOT sync with the object code. so i set a breakpoint and when it hits, it's several lines away. i can fix it by changing the line endings to mac (save) then to windows (save) then back to unix, then recompile, then my break points line up again. i don't get it, this is not rocket science.

Because of it's original platform, I've setup XCode to use Windows line endings in my global XCode preferences (not the per-file preferences). For both new and existing files.
But Xcode seems to "randomly" forget this setting and go back to saving in Unix line endings - I usually don't notice until I'm Comparing with FileMerge (through the SCM options) and this shows that the entire file has changed to Unix line endings again. Once it's started, the only way I can get XCode to remember the settings is to Quit and restart XCode. Then re-saving the troublesome file with Xcode correctly uses Windows line endings.
Anyone else seen this problem and know a solution for it? Xcode 3.1
Thanks, Michael
