Thanks. I did that and indeed my app can launch in the Bash terminal. However, Xcode still does not work.

I found this thread that seems to indicate Xcode has nothing to do with Bash, hence what we change will not affect Xcode launching the same app?

Yes X is local.

Might there be a guide on how to set the DISPLAY var for different shells?
