I was editing code in a separate editor window then used cmd-0 (zero)
to go to my "project window" to use Find in Project. When the window
came up it was mostly blank, showing only what I expected to be the
left-hand column titled "Groups & Files". There were no "pane"
boundaries inside dividing the window into the various sub-windows I
expected to be there. My layout is now set to all-in-one but I'm not
sure if that was how I had it set before. I don't know how it got
like this. Certainly I did not intend to change the layout. How can
I fix it?
Look at the extreme right edge of the window; is there a vertical split
bar there? If so, drag it to the left.
Perfect, thanks! I had looked for such a bar, but on the wrong side of the (unused) scroll bar) of "Groups & Files".
We know how this happens: you make your window too small and the split
bar adheres to the right edge of the window, then when you make the
window bigger again it doesn't detach.
For what its worth, I don't think that was what happened in my case. I definitely did not intend to adjust the size of my project window, nor did I find it set to a small size. I had just previously encountered an exception, caught by the debugger. Perhaps something to do with switching into the debug configuration then back in response to my cmd-0?
