How to Remove "Allow Only Roman Characters" from NSSecureTextField

I think this is an IB bug: I can't turn off the checkbox to allow "only roman characters". OK, I can uncheck the box, but once I compile or close/open the XIB, it returns and harasses me with a warning message.
Is it safe to manually remove the NSAllowedInputLocales key, and will that solve the problem? Note that NSTextFields behave properly.
