Cyrus SASL Authentication with Xcode's Subversion?

I have a Subversion repository set up to do encryption and
authentication with Cyrus SASL, using DIGEST-MD5.  It all works with
the Subversion command-line client that comes with Xcode.

But when I try to configure the repository from within Xcode, I get:

Error: 170001 (Authorization failed) Description: Cannot negotiate
authentication mechanism

Does the Xcode Subversion client support Cyrus SASL?  If so, does it
work with DIGEST-MD5?

It seems to me that it should because my understanding is that it
links against the same client support libraries as the command-line
client does.  Am I correct here?

I searched the list archives and didn't find any mention of this.

This is with Xcode 3.1.4, as part of the iPhone SDK.
