Hi Ken,

Thanks for the response. Actually, I had found a copy of Smart Crash Reports that some app installed (still don't know which). I threw that away and rebooted but the problem still happens.

I found this in the gdb logs:

<- =shlibs-added,shlib- info=[num="77",name="libGLProgrammability.dylib",kind="-",dyld- addr="0x940b4000",reason="dyld",requested-state="E",state="E",path="/ System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/ libGLProgrammability.dylib",description="/System/Library/Frameworks/ OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/ libGLProgrammability .dylib ",loaded_addr = "0x940b4000 ",slide="-0x6bf4c000",prefix=""],time={now="1234756623.913939"}
<- 34 *stopped ,time = {wallclock = "9.84117 ",user = "0.40716 ",system = "0.25726 ",start="1234756616.811971",end="1234756626.653142"},reason="signal- received",signal-name="EXC_BAD_ACCESS",signal-meaning="Could not access memory",access- reason="KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS",address="0xa093288b",thread-id="1"

The first line was the last of the shared libraries loaded. I included that line just for context as I don't think it's responsible, but who knows. I didn't see any odd libraries in the list. The rest of the log seems like it's going through the stack frames.

Also, another thing I forgot to mention earlier was that this problem preceded a kernel panic earlier today. I wonder if I should start checking things at the hardware level.

So, again, hopefully someone can provide any clues or other places to look.

Thanks,

Paul Kim

I suspect an Input Manager, Contextual Menu Plugin, haxie, or similar thing which injects its code into every running application. Try disabling or uninstalling any such thing you've recently installed or updated, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away.

Good luck,
Ken
