I have suddently started receiving this confusing and unhelpful error when trying to open up Xcode.I have absolutely no idea what’s caused this error or how to fix it. Google search indicates something about the iPhone SDK (of which I do not have installed), and deleting Plist files (which I have done and yet still have no fix).

What Info.plist files did you delete? If there's an Info.plist file at the root of your startup volume — i.e. with the path /Info.plist — then that's what's causing this.

Just delete that file and Xcode should launch fine.
