Cannot save a file after comparing it with repository

Hi,

I have a number of projects in Subversion.  When I try to compare a file in my working copy against the one at the "HEAD" of the repository, if i make any changes in Xcode's Compare window, I am unable to save it.  Typing command-S does nothing; clicking the close box causes a save box to come up but the window disappears before I can do anything.  How do I save changes that I make while merging a file in the Compare window?
