MallocDebug vs Nav Services dialogs

I have been using MallocDebug to track down some obscure Under/Overrun problems in our app. However it seems that as soon as any Nav services dialogs are used it is no longer possible for MallocDebug to do an 'Update'. MallocDebug itself just hangs with the following in the console:

23/01/09 17:02:57 MallocDebug[17034] GetMallocData returned error
23/01/09 17:02:57 MallocDebug[17034] libMallocDebug getStacks: error
23/01/09 17:02:57 MallocDebug[17034] getZoneNames failed

Thinking it was just my app, I tried it in TextEdit too and the same problem occurs once the Open dialog is shown.

Is this a known issue?

Matt Gough
