Error when Integrating with SVN xcode 3.1

  • Subject: Error when Integrating with SVN xcode 3.1

I'm running into a problem while trying to set up xcode 3.1 to use svn as its scm.

I created a local svn repository.
I imported my existing xcode project into the repository:
svn import path/to/xcode/project file:///Path/to/svn/repository
I checked out a copy of the project:
svn checkout file:///Path/to/svn/repository working-copy
I opened the copy of the project in the working copy using xcode.
I configured xcode to recognize my repository in the Preferences->SCM->Repositories window.
I set my project to use my repository in project info->general->scm.
I tried to update my project.

A panel drops down from xcode telling me:
Error: 155005 (Working copy not locked; this is probably a bug, please report) Description: Directory 'path/to/working-copy/build/Project.build/Project.pbxindex/strings.pbxstrings/.svn' containing working copy admin area is missing

I can't figure out what is going wrong or how to fix it. Can anyone explain what the problem is?
